Traffic fatalities high on Thanksgiving Day

The deadliest holiday of the year for California drivers and motorists throughout the country is Thanksgiving. Experts chalk this up to a number of reasons, including weather and people speeding to their destination. More fatal accidents happen on Thanksgiving Day than Christmas Day. In 2012, there were 654 fatal car accidents on Christmas but 764 on Thanksgiving. Furthermore, there were about 50,000 car accidents on Thanksgiving Day in 2012 in which no one died.
